Meta Hip Hop is a rap tune made out of other rap tunes. 80+ Hip Hop tunes sampled but the samples all rhyme together. Full lyrics are in the video description.
Since moving back to Europe I’ve been spending a lot of time in Ireland. My friend Aaron Heffernan got me into the TV Show “Love/Hate” in which he plays a police officer called Gavin. So I made this remix of the show featuring sprinklings of Gavin and all the swearing , drug taking and violence which has made the show the most viewed TV drama in Ireland. The show is coming soon to Netflix so the whole world can enjoy it too. I’m going to be back in Dublin playing at The Palace Nightclub on 28th,29th and 31st of this month.
Star Wars 7 is around the corner so it’s time to summarize the last 6 movies in remix. First up is DROIDS. In the process of making it I couldn’t resist also making a video of R2D2 with subtitles. I’ll be doing a few more of these this year leading up to the release of SW7. So far on the Star Wars tip i’ve also done DARKSIDE and YODA. At the end of this month I’ll be back in Dublin for a few nights at the Palace Nightclub . Lot’s more video remixery coming soon.

This Saturday night i am doing a Video DJ set at The Palace Nightclub in DUBLIN
It’s taken me till 2014 to remix 2001, but with the film relaunching in British cinemas, I thought now would be a great time to do it. This mix contains almost every scientific prediction in the film mixed with the space age synth sounds that were just around the corner. Much that Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C Clarke predicted has come to pass - touch screen portable computers, video phones, Space Stations, in-seat video entertainment, computers beating humans at chess. So far though, Siri hasn’t switched off anybody’s life support.
The original had minimal dialogue, communicating through moving images. The monolith was built on a 1 : 4 : 9 ratio (the squares of the first three integers), the same ratio as a cinema screen on its side. When the humans/monkeys see the monolith it enlightens them, when the screen goes black, you, the viewer, are now looking at the monolith on it’s side enlightening you. Whether true or not, Kubrick hid many many objects with this ratio throughout the film. The whole film is built on an electro-version of the legendary “Also Sprach Zarathustra” by Richard Strauss.

Over 2014 Oxfam has been collecting video and audio samples at many music festival. They then gave me all the samples and I made an Audio-Visual piece. Thanks to all the people who created samples for us to work. The video also features The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Danny and the Champions, Editors, Eliza Doolittle, Foals, Heydon Prowse, Warpaint, John Newman, Simon Pegg and The Bohicas.
It’s Halloween and it’s been 30 years since Ghostbusters was released so I’m hitting two bats with one pumpkin with this Ghostbusters remix. Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd’s classic gets the rewind…..streams are crossed, Zuul prepares us for the coming of Gozer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow man appears in all his guises.
Whilst on the topic of BILL MURRAY, this Thursday (30th Oct) I am Audio DJing (no video) for the launch of Hungry Castle’s new collection “The Shit Collection” which features a Bill Murray shirt.
I’ve just returned from Moscow yesterday morning where I was a judge and performer at the Circle of Light Festival. Massive thanks to Tatyana Popova who did an amazing job of wrangling all the judges and 5 times as many contestants. While i was there i did a set on Moscow 24 TV and performed an AV set projected onto Yuri Gagarin’s standby space rocket. Someone has very kindly posted the whole set online . That is probably the most impressive projection I’ve ever performed on. The whole festival was incredibly impressive but possibly the most exciting part for me was meeting Stuart Warren Hill (Hexstatic / Holotronica). Stuart created the AV video piece TIMBER in 1997 which is the first example of AV I ever saw and it’s what made me want to make Eclectic Method. So it’s fair to say Stuart has totally changed my life and this was the first time I ever had the chance to meet him. Stuart hasn’t paused innovating for a sec and has slowed down his Hexstatic persona to instead focus on Holotronica. He has also invented the Holo-Gauze screen, a projection screen that remains totally invisible till you project on it. Stuart is using it in combination with 3D glasses to do Holotronica 3D Shows but Eric Prydz also recently used the screen for his legendary MSG show, video below:

With Season 5 of Bob’s Burgers looming on the televisual horizon (October 5th) I thought it was time for the Tina Belcher Moombahton Remix.
She is the perfect representation of the awkward hormonal teenager most of us were, and she turns down for nothing. So cue the get jiggy latin beats and funky Tina breakdowns.

How far can you take it when sampling just one phrase? Well, I’ve tried to totally overdo it by creating a piece from Audrey Hepburn just saying “I Love You”, from the public domain movie “Charade”. One of the most literal visual examples of sampling ever. Every pitch shift and jitter in sound has been matched with a corresponding shift and jitter in picture. The track is available to download for free and so are the audio stems for those who want to do their own remix. Also you can jam with the video in the new Coub Mixer browser based video remixer. You can also go to the main Coub Mixer main page and make your own multi channel video sample jams.
Mark Ronson did a talk on sampling recently for TED so I’ve sampled the sample talk and even put the samples on Blend.io so you too can sample the sample about samples.
I’ve teamed up with my cousin BeatNiK to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz” by remixing it silly. This mix is Todo heavy because let’s face it, he’s the real star of the film. If you like the video you can download the extended audio mix from BeatNiK’s soundcloud for nish.
COSMOS, the Carl Sagan Cosmos series has been remade with Neil Degrasse Tyson and is flipping ridicusick. MELANGE is the new ep from Lazerdisk. The track “Crashing” on Melange is a collaboration between Lazerdisk and The Knocks and they asked me to remix it. I try to make everything I do about video as well as music (video music ainnit) so I decided to combine my audio remix with the Cosmos TV show what with the lyrics being so starry and such “You know where we are, dancing in the stars……”
