Hello. I am Jonny Wilson (Eclectic Method) and I make remix videos or video music. I make music using video samples combined with my own music. Most of the time I do it for fun but sometimes people pay me to turn their footage into music or audio visual live shows. Thank you for following me and watching my videos.
A lot of people ask me why don't my videos get taken down for copyright infringement?
The answer is almost all my videos are using 2 second samples from movies. When studios put out movies they expect vlogs, tv shows and media to regularly feature a few seconds of their movie to reference it. If film studios started taking down every video using 2 seconds of their latest movie they'd be killing off a lot of free PR. With music however if you take 1 minute of the latest 3 minute pop tune then you're taking a third of it but 2 seconds of a movie is more like a 3,000th of it. For this reason you will often have videos taken down if you use other people's music. As I compose original music for my remixes this doesn't effect me. If film studios do take offense they can issue take downs (this never happens) or they can put adverts on my videos and make money (this often happens). A lot of directors have shared my remixes of their films. When people hire me to make video remixes they hire me to remix content they own using music I create originally from scratch.
I cut up a bunch of pop stars faces into sub-second fragments and stuck them together to make a new combined face with itchy scratchy drawings to link it all. This is a continuation into my experiments into "what constitutes theft?" and "what does the automated take down system find offense?"
I made this remix of Apollo 11 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary and also last week I did Spiderverse.
I’ve been making a video a week and forgetting to post anything on here for the last 3 months so here goes…. This is Sound Effects 5 , i love making songs using solely movie, tv and video samples this is one of my favorites that I’ve done. I feel like Deadpool slamming that cardoor and Liza Koshy’s clap is one of the best kick/clap SFX combos i’ve ever get. Edgar Wright has been posting my remixes of his show Spaced which has it’s 20th Anniversary this year. Juliette Lewis posted my violent beat remix and peaceful chill remix on her instagram. I also did a longform remix of her stringing her lines from different movies together in a rhyming story. I did a collab with Owae , two Quickfire video dj mixes 1 - 2 - , a house tune for 420 and a remix of Captain Marvel based around Samuel L Jackson singing Mr Postman. Also EVERY FRIDAY I am Livestreaming on YouTube and Facebook at 7PM CET, 1PM EST, 10AM PST.
I post a lot of my own links here so I thought I'd show a few things I've made for other people's channels. I just finished making a video called #IT, people saying IT to a beat. Casey Neistat called it the "best thing on the internet today". Edgar Wright recently posted a remix I did for him to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Spaced. It's a sound effects remix you can watch on his instagram ortwitter. I've made another Spaced remix that is more talky that's coming out shortly. Jimmy Fallon recently played my Ricky Gervais remix to him on his show. Graham Norton also played my Wolf of Wall Street remix to Matthew McConaughyon his show. Matthew asked where his residuals were so I double checked and Mr McConaughy can rest assured that his film company has collected at least $20,000 in ad revenue from that remix. Patty Jenkins very kindly shared my Wonder Woman remix. Ed Solomon very kindly shared the remix I made of the Bill and Ted movieshe co-wrote. Flula posted a remix I made for him on his instagram. Jason Silva shared a remix I made for him on his instagram. A while ago I made a showreel forDenis Leary and though he liked it he said it was maybe a little too weird so I posted about it online. Well Denis very kindly tweeted to correct the story of theshowreel. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez liked the remix I made of her on twitter and I'm doing an AV set for my mate Kill in Barcelona next month.
I took a bunch of US Military Public Domain Nuclear Atomic footage from the Prelinger Archive and made this remix with explosions and retro animations.
Is it illegal if you take just one note? Here's a video remix made from samples no longer than 0.5 seconds from 107 different artists. Madonna won her court case over the use of a 0.23 second horn stab in "Vogue". Sabrina Setlur won her courtcase for unauthorized use of 2 seconds of Kraftwerk. So I have been wondering how long is too long when it comes to sampling. This video remix is to test out the algorithm. Will YouTube's copyright ID system take offence at Taylor Swifts voice appearing for 0.14 seconds and her face occupying 18% of the screen... Who knows?
As a 90’s kid who owned both a Mega Drive and a Game Gear I am super excited about my latest video with SEGA. SEGA have relaunched a bunch of the classic games on multiple platforms with the SEGA Mega Drive Classics collection. To celebrate I mashed up the games blending levels and characters to create a musical video score with the characters and levels playing the music. The sounds are created using only sound effects from the original games, no added drums, synths or preservatives. Technically this video could be performed on a Mega Drive in the early 90s. The forests of Golden Axe are blended into the urban sprawl of Streets of Rage where ToeJam and Earl go clubbing.

With the Han Solo movie on the horizon and The Last Jedi in the rear view mirror I thought it was time to remix everyone's favorite space rogue pirate smuggler war hero. Han Solo Song is a rhyming remix through the 4 movies of Han so far . Rhymed mostly by Han himself with a Han Solo solo on laser blaster. This is my 11th Star Wars Remix.
