Eclectic Method

MASHALA is Narcis Jr and Jonny Wilson. They have been releasing tunes for a while under various guises (Monophonic, B.R.K., Baraka, Otherworld) releasing tunes for variety of different labels and styles Total Wipes (Italy), URBR (Brazil), PornoStarMusic (Germany), Law&Auder (UK), as well as releasing a collobaration with Brian Eno in 2000 "Y2K". Jonny is also part of Eclectic Method, the pioneering video mashup/remix crew. Between them they have created remixes for Fatboyslim, Nikka Costa and Brooke Valentine in the last 12 months and travel globally from Japan to the States playing as Eclectic Method and as Mashala DJ Multi-deck tag team sets.

Narcis Jr. aka MonoPhonic was born in Mostar 1980. In the mid 90's he started experimenting with electronic sounds soon after moving to DJ-ing playing over 300 times across Europe to date. After finishing 4 years of music technology school in London in 1997 he started the Otherworld project with residencies across London. In 2000 Narcis returned to his home town, Mostar. He met Jonny aka B.R.K. and soon after that they started playing in clubs and bars around Ex-Yugoslavia, Remixing and Producing Local Acts and running clubnights and radio shows across ex-yugoslavia.
He contiued working in Mostar as a promoter under the name Otherworld booking and playing with dj's such as Umek, Valentino Kanzyani, Brenda Russell, Kevin Saunderson & Relic. Narcis stayed in Mostar splitting his time between London, Europe and Ex-Yugoslavia becoming a major player in the development of the bosnian eclectronic scene. He founded the ClubVibes site (www.clubvibes.info) with Haris Custo which has become a hub for all activity for all things electronic in Ex-Yugoslavia. In 2005 Narcis started the Mashala project with B.R.K.

Jonny aka B.R.K. was born in London 1980. Jonny's been messing around with musical instruments as long as he can remember. His dad's acoustic guitar was around from the moment he was, but at age 11 he got his first electric guitar. Jonny played in bands throughout school. By 14 he had a sampler and various bits of kit to mix up beats and by 15 he was sneaking into raves to dj , badly. Jonny moved to Mostar, Bosnia&Hercegovina in 1997. There he worked in a studio training people in Djing, Remixing and generally using music tech as well as travelling and Djing across Ex-Yugoslavia. At the Pavarotti Centre Jonny hooked up with Narcis to make tunes, do some of the first dj mix radio shows and produce other bands and musicians. He returned to London full time in 2000 after organising the ninjatune tour of ex-yugoslavia. It was on this tour that he took his new direction into audio-visuals forming the ground breaking act eclectic method remixing music videos from 2001 to the present time. During the first few years of Eclectic Method jonny did remixes for MTV, Fatboyslim, Coldcut as well as many movies and projects too varied to mention in the field of music alone. He has also played all over the world, in 2004 playing over 60 dates in 15 countries over 4 different continents. www.eclecticmethod.net
