Feb 28 2010 San Francisco

On way back from San Francisco on a plane, yey onboard wifi. Just been having an excellent few days in San Francisco with JB and my good friend Sharri. Also I have only recently passed my driving test so it was my first trip around Cali and SF in a car with me in control. Wish I had had a camera in the car to capture Justin and Sharri’s shocked faces as I learned the intricate ways of getting a car up a 45 degree angle. On our first day Open Video Alliance invited us to give a talk at Stanford University, we gave our talk directly after Lawrence Lessig gave his talk from Harvard all streamed live on the interweb. Had a great time at Stanford before rushing to In & Out Burger to get our fill, been time since i had In&Out. Saturday night we played the Bootie party at DNA Lounge. It was our third time at Bootie and it just gets better every time, DNA was packed and the audience were mad up for it. Thank you so much San Fran!

Things are quite hectic right now. During March we are heading to Mexico, Miami and a full 10 days at SXSW in Austin. I think we are playing about 42 times at SXSW. On top of all that I just moved into a new apartment and am getting a grand total of 5 days home this month, although escaping the winter wonderland that New York has become is no bad thing.  You might have seen we recently put out Rock & Remix 2, Jersey Shore and Computer On. Computer On is part of a bunch of interactive remix toys we got in production can’t wait to talk more about it but i presently banned from saying any more then that…. watch this space. We also working on a track with Chuck D, a new mixtape and as usual a million things in the pipeline. Tomorrow night we are doing a party with Adrian Grenier in NYC before heading to Mexico City. Also wanted to say a mad thank you to Rob Da Bank for repeatedly representing for and supporting the Method in the UK.

Wow, i love the internet, love love love it. Just under 24hours from putting our Wu Tang Clan video mixtape online RZA himself has tweeted it to the masses.

Art creates Art. Check this great piece on the Wu. http://vimeo.com/8670418 BONG BONG”

Also just for fun I have to whip out this quote from U-God about Eclectic Method from a piece we did together in 2008:

“This blew my motherfucking head off!!  I’ve never seen nothing like this… this is some NEW SHIT!!!  Kids is gonna love this…”

Also y’all gotta check out this Copyright Criminals Video. It’s the intro to the Copyright Criminals Documentary which is out soon, as well as televising on PBS this month in the states. We appear in the documentary as do many other top top remixers and samplistas like Coldcut, Chuck D and Q Bert to name but a few.

Thanks to everyone who came to NYCWTF on saturday, was an excellent party. We finished the Wu-Tang Clan Mixtape. We been planning and thinking about this for a while. Me and Ian have spent the last few months chucking back and forth intricate cuts of Wu Samples. The mix features tons of Wu Clips from music videos, interviews, films they’ve appeared in but we also cut up the kung fu movies that wu sampled into the mix. Not just the spoken word bits but also making beats out of the fighting. I’ve been super obsessed with the idea of beats, rhythm made of kung fu fighting for a long long while now. Wu was the perfect mixtape to match up the sick hip hop with the sick fighting beats. Anyway all this got me thinking about the fighting remixes we’ve done over the years and so i tried to locate some of them on the interweb:

Kung Fu Beats

Streetfighter Jam on SVM

Snake Worship Island

Streetfighter

Kill Bill Remix

Sopranos Remix

GTA Vice City Remix

Bass Rutten

The one i can’t find right now is the Bruce Lee remix we did an age ago. Man I love kung fu movies!
