Eclectic Method Unveils Their Most Intricate Audio Visual Mix to Date – ‘Back to the Back to the Future’

(New York, NY – July, 20, 2009) – Amidst a summer of international and national events and conferences, Eclectic Method is excited to announce the latest installment to their mashup masterpiece theater: ‘Back to the Back to the Future.’ The past several months have proven to be an intense endurance training session for the AV/DJ trio, who have cut and spliced everything from Stephen Colbert to Quentin Tarantino to Michael Jackson; performed at events in Los Angeles, New York, and Ireland; and participated in Los Angeles’ E3 Conference and New York City’s Open Video Conference. With their skills honed to perfection, Eclectic Method’s ‘Back to the Back to the Future’ remix generates the 1.21 gigawatts required to push their talent into an echelon of its own and validate the art of remixing.

‘Back to the Back to the Future’ is Eclectic Method’s most time-consuming remix video to date as they transition to incorporating more narrative themes in their work. “Our editing process mostly revolves around collecting many, many audio/video samples,” says Jonny Wilson, one of the New York-based members of the group. “We then work with them much in the same way a composer might compose with a sampler, but we are always keeping in mind the video element.” Similar to the style of ‘The Tarantino Mixtape,’ Eclectic Method incorporates Back to the Future’s iconic images with its equally popular soundtrack packed with ‘80s powerhouse Huey Lewis and the News and the film’s timeless orchestrated theme song–all on top of a solid base beat, of course. Eclectic Method is also working completely in HD for this mash-up. The 1280 x720 resolution allows the group to capture the film’s genius special effects in incredible detail. ‘Intricacy is in the eye of the mixer,’ said Ian Edgar of Eclectic Method, who recently relocated from Los Angeles to New York City.

With ‘Back to the Back to the Future,’ Eclectic Method makes a bigger and broader creative statement, solidifying their identity as the premier remix artists. Like the film, Eclectic Method effortlessly fuses past, present, and future, creating a commentary on how everything – socially, culturally, and musically – is intrinsically connected; with a few tweaks of the past, the present can be totally altered, making way for a more promising future. What Back to the Future did for the movie genre in the 1980s, Eclectic Method is doing for the remix culture of today and digital media of the future.

Eclectic Method screened the ‘Back to the Back to the Future’ Mix to audiences this weekend at Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg, they are the new venue’s official house video DJs.
