May 6 2009 I friggin love the internet
BY: JonnyNo jokes i just love the internet so funkin much. I think if i had been born 10 years earlier I would be quite genuinely f**%^d and a social outcast. Been wanting to do the Tarantino Mix for a while, just so in love with all Tarantino’s movies and almost had most of the remix cut at the back of my mind before sitting down in front of the computer to edit. So we made the Tarantino Mixtape and slammed it on vimeo one night and emailed a few friends… This is what I love about the internet… by the end of the first day 4,000 people had checked the Tarantino mix. I was so super psyched by the reaction… It’s just a re-occurring joy nowadays to be able to publish stuff online and receive feedback so quickly. What’s more the Tarantino mix seemed to spread over email, tweeting and other forms of digital social interaction and it becomes something of a sport to watch what ideas will catch on and which ones won’t. It’s just so super exciting to be able to finish something and see it have an effect so fast. I think if we were to ask for permission to make this mix we would probably be talking to the film companies in about 2011 but as it goe’s I really can’t see them taking offense or legal action now we’ve done it. Most of the clips in the mix are 3 seconds or shorter (far less then a usual trailer) and all we can see the mix doing is making people wanna go back and watch Tarantino movies and go see his new one Inglorious Basterds, rather then remove from his profitablity.
